8.18.25: Proof of Life

I'm still here! It's been a busy couple of weeks with life and the whole day job thing that takes up a lot of time Monday-Friday.

Achievement Unlocked! Have your manuscript reviewed by an editor! (I'm currently reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and would highly recommend).

I was able to garner some offers from folks who are developmental editors (think plot and characters, not grammar and punctuation). The feedback I got was incredibly helpful and constructive. It also wasn't far from "you might need to rewrite just about everything (hence the GIF). I'm pretty confident both of these things can be true, and it was a pleasant surprise that it made me more motivated and excited to keep doing it instead of totally discouraging me.

Since I'll probably work on the edits for Sunny Lake first before resuming the initial draft of Return to Work, I'll start posting a % complete on the edits on the main page as well so everyone can see how things are progressing. I'll continue to post some excerpts from the updated draft as well as it progresses.

I'm also going to have to at some point start to manage the X and Instagram accounts I created, so if anyone out there has experience in those fields, I'm a more than willing listener.

Thanks to all of you who have asked about the process and offered encouraging words. Also, a very Happy Fantasy Football Draft season to those who celebrate. Maybe better than Christmas.
